You can eat dates at any time of the day without any digestive issues. They also make for an energy-rich snack that will keep you full. I personally enjoy eating snickers, so I made these healthy and delicious sinkers using the natural sweetness from Dates, crunchy flavor from Oats, Peanut Butter and Flax Seeds to hold the snicker bar together and give that desired nutty taste. Dates snickers can be stored for up to a month in the refrigerator and tastes best when served cold. I always keep my stock to munch on them anytime.
Ingredients :
10-12 Dates
3 tbsp. Peanut Butter (preferably crunchy. If you do not have peanut butter, you can use 2tbsp. honey)
2 tbsp. Flax Seeds
4 tbsp. Oats
1 tbsp. Almond Flour aka ground almond powder (optional)
Recipe :
- I have used Medjool Dates as I had some in my kitchen. You can use any dates. If the dates are hard and seeded, there is nothing to worry 🙂 Soak them in lukewarm water for about 30 mins to make them soft and deseed all
- In a food processor or a blender add all the ingredients mentioned above and blend until you get a gooey-sticky dough
- Arrange dough in square of rectangular shape, on a parchment paper in a plate or a baking tray that can go inside the fridge. Let it chill for 30 mins and cut the slab into bars (Tip- When cutting the bars, dip the knife in water as it can sticky)
It is alright if you have a few big chunks of dates that cannot be ground well 🙂
Store them in a container and enjoy these healthy and easy dates snickers. It is a great idea to offer them to kids too. Please let me know in the comments section if you like this recipe, and share more ideas with me via contact me.
