A great way to cut down on bread and still enjoy a burger 🙂. I have made this simple Chickpea and Quinoa Burger. However, you can make patties of your choice or whatever ingredients you have at home, after all, it is about being creative in your kitchen and avoiding food wastage.
Calories – 150c
Prep time – 5 minutes
Cook time – 15 minutes
Serves – 2
Ingredients :
Few drops of Oil
100gm Canned Chickpea (drained)
100gm Cooked Quinoa
3tbsp. Bread Crumbs (I used wheat bread Crumbs, but you can use white too)
1 Large Egg
2 Chopped Green Chilies
1 Chopped Onion
Cheese Slice
Tomato slices for the burger
Seasoning (Salt, Pepper, Lemon Juice, Cilantro and Chili Flakes for extra spice)
Recipe :
- Patty: Mix chickpeas, quinoa, crack open an egg, bread crumbs, green chilies, chopped onion and all seasoning well in a big bowl, mashing the chickpeas. Make patties of your desired shape and size. Shallow fry until golden brown.
- Burger: Use lettuce leaves like bread (any type of lettuce leaves will do, as long as it wraps the patties well, use extra for more support). Place a thin slice of onion, tomato, and cheese. Add the patties and some mayonnaise (any sauce of your choice)
Enjoy this delicious and healthy burger. Please let me know in the comments section if you like this dish or have similar ideas to share via contact me.
